Take a few minutes to breathe the yogic way.

I have benefitted from taking deep breaths everytime I am facing a tough situation. The practice of Yoga, which originates from India, teaches us different methods of breathing or "Pranayama". Pranayama can help all of us gain mental focus, emotional health, physical health, weight loss and a host of other benefits.

With regards to children, simple breathing exercises helps them focus and concentrate more effectively. There are several articles on the benefits of breathing.

It may seem easy to sit in one place and focus. However, it takes time to really train your mind to concentrate on the breathing process. Our mind will run in several directions and it is up to us to let it focus by chanting or just saying "OM". This is NOT a religious exercise. Yogic breathing is a spiritual exercise and is practiced by people of all religions all over the world.

So, sit back and relax. You do not have to schedule a trip to a spa to do so. A quiet place at your home or in your yard should work very well. Teach your kids to take a break to breathe and focus. The results are amazing!
